Add a little sweet and spice to your coffee or cocktail with this simple gingerbread syrup. Use it to make a Gingerbread Latte.
Makes 2 cups
Ingredients:
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 2 tablespoons finely grated peeled fresh ginger
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions:
Bring all ingredients to a boil in a medium saucepan over high. Reduce heat to medium, and simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat, and cool 30 minutes. Pour through a fine wire-mesh strainer into an airtight container; discard solids. Use immediately, or cover and store in refrigerator for up to 1 week.
